Legal Stuff
The Frontiers Project (TFP) acknowledges that all of the following are trademarks of Paramount Pictures or affiliated companies ("Affiliates"):
- Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Enterprise, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek: The Search for Spock, Star Trek: The Voyage Home, Star Trek: The Final Frontier, Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country, Star Trek: Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, and Star Trek: Nemesis (collectively defined as "Star Trek works").
- All names, titles, and registry marks seen on the various Star Trek series.
- All other qualifying marks, words, or logos seen on the various Star Trek series.
TFP offers no suggestion that the work presented on this web page is "official" or produced or sanctioned by the owner of the aforementioned trademarks. In order to comply with United States Trademark Law, all materials produced by TFP will identify themselves as unofficial fan works. TFP will take all steps necessary to ensure that any usage of trademarked items in no way confuses the audience of this site as to its origin.
Copyrighted Works
TFP acknowledges that all of the following are copyrighted works of Paramount Affiliates:
- All video that is a part of any of the Star Trek works.
- All promotional pictures produced for any of the Star Trek works.
- All promotional videos produced for any of the Star Trek works.
- All other works produced while a salaried employee or contracting for a production which is a part of the collective Star Trek works.
TFP submits that the following are not copyrighted works:
- Factual data, including the names, ages, likenesses, and other vital data of actors who have appeared in Star Trek.
- Information about the production of the Star Trek series.
- The general configuration, or look-and-feel of any of the Star Trek works, so long as any original work of TFP cannot be considered a derivative work of a work copyrighted by Paramount Pictures.
TFP will make every effort to comply with United States Copyright law, and will only use copyrighted works if TFP believes that such use is excepted from prohibition by the Fair Use clause of United States Copyright Law.
TFP is a non-profit group. No money is charged to receive or view any works created by TFP. Likewise, members of TFP receive no compensation for their time and effort in developing work.
TFP does not for the usage of copyrighted materials as part of TFP's works to cause a decline in the potential market for the work. The audience for TFP's works will almost certainly be people who already have some degree of interest in the works of Paramount or its Affiliates.
Infringement
If you are an owner or owners of copyrighted work and believe your work is being illegally infringed upon, please provide in writing a full list of items which they believe are infringing (along with the reason behind your belief of infringement) to our staff e-mail address at Staff @ StarTrekFrontiers.net. We will address any issues with all due expediency. Return contact information would also be useful.
TFP Properties
The Star Trek Frontiers logo, and any officially recognized variation thereof, are trademarks of TFP. However, TFP does not submit nor imply that the usage of Star Trek implies that the Frontiers project is a part of any official Star Trek works. Additionally, excepted from this rule are other projects bearing the name 'Star Trek Frontiers' or any variation thereof, provided their work and logo are of their own design.
All images, text, and other works presented on this web page are Copyrights of The Frontiers Project. All original names, logos, and marks are trademarks of TFP.
No work of TFP, unless so specifically stated, is a derivative work of any copyrighted work. All works owned by TFP are original works of members of TFP, or works of which exclusive rights have been granted to TFP.
If any person wishes to reproduce or otherwise utilize a right reserved to copyright owners by law any copyrighted work of TFP, explicit written permission is required. The only exception is the Fair Use exemption, which is described in Sec. 107 of Title 17 of the U.S. Code. The Executive Producer of TFP will be glad to answer any inquiries on Fair Use of TFP owned materials if you write to him at staff@startrekfrontiers.net.
The Frontiers Project: Who Are We?
TFP members would be defined as individuals who have access to the Star Trek Frontiers Development forum. TFP has a rolling membership, with new members joining from time to time. Permission to join TFP will be granted by the Frontiers Executive Producer.
