The Frontiers Staff
Just like a machine is only as good as (if not more than) the sum of its parts, a virtual series is only as good as the people who make it happen. Below you'll find the teams that make up the Frontiers staff and learn a little about the people who make those teams work.
The Administration Team
The Administration Team ensures that all of the details and daily work behind the show are taken care of. This includes making sure the site gets updated, that all projects are completed by their deadlines, that all editing is done, etcetera. They also make any big forum announcements. Our Executive Producers also take on the duties of staff writer.

BIO: I pretty much grew up with Star Trek. My grandmother and uncle were very much into the original series and the movies. The first movie I saw as a kid was Star Trek IV, though I have vague impressions of seeing parts of The Motion Picture and a number of television episodes. I enjoyed them well enough, but I didn't become a true fan until I saw what remains my favorite of the films, Star Trek VI. Shortly after that I saw Unficiation during TNG's fifth season and I was hooked.
I'm pleased with the progress Frontiers has made, considering it sat on the shelf for a decade before it got rolling. I am proud to have such a divserse and talented staff, all of whom bring some very original ideas to the table. These guys (and gal!) are living proof that there are great stories left to be told about the Federation's future that don't involve tighter spandex uniforms. I hope we'll boldly for for many years to come!

BIO: I've been writing mostly prose for several years, but after leaving the hormone-controlled teenage years, I decided to give scriptwriting a go. After figuring out what a teaser was, I instantly settled into writing for screen faster than a beat cop getting comfy on a park bench. I've been a fan of Star Trek ever since I got a glimpse of the 3 Data's on "Brothers" when it was first aired, and I have since enjoyed every single incarnation of the saga (less so with Voyager). After exploring The Original Series fully through the medium of the DVD, I decided to give my own virtual show a go, creating Star Trek: Atlantis and planning treatments for 74 episodes (and actually writing a few, too!) set in the groovy 2260's. However, after reading the stunning first season of the fan show Star Trek: Renaissance, I decided to abandon the idea and have a go at writing for someone else and, more importantly, with other people.
Wanting to have a career in writing novels and screenplays, I hope that the experience gained from fellow writers will help me achieve that goal. And if it doesn't, at least I'll have fun along the way. I'm currently studying English Literature and Creative Writing at Liverpool Hope University, UK, but still manage to fit in a bit of Sci-Fi around all the assignments and alcoholic beverages.
In addition to being a Co-EP on Frontiers, I'm also a Staff Writer for Star Trek: Star's End, and a Producer for Star Trek: Knight's Haven. I also have the aforementioned Star Trek: Atlantis in development (the mini-series pilot of which is currently in the latter stages of development), as well as a Doctor Who Virtual Series, which will hopefully debut in November 2006.

BIO: I've watched Trek almost all my life, since TNG's first season (yes, I was five at the time). Through out the years, I've watched each Modern Trek show with my father, as he and my mother got me into Trek. I have an appreciation for all the Trek series (even Voyager and Enterprise), but my favorite remains Deep Space Nine. The Next Generation holds a special place in my heart, as it's the show that got me into Trek.
Currently, I work as editor for Frontiers and Co-Executive Producer/Editor for Star's End. When I'm not working on fan fiction, I like to write poems and short stories, reading novels, playing computer games, watching DVDs and spending time with my cat. I graduated from university last June with a degree in English (magna cum laude), and after a few months, got a crappy part time job. I've since fallen in a rut and haven't found anything better. I miss school, and would like to go back for a Masters Degree someday. I'm currently a life member of Sigma Tau Delta and Phi Kappa Phi.
I've lived in the Northwest all my life, traveled along the west coast and visited Mexico. I don't get much of a chance to travel much due to little money, but I would like to visit Germany someday.
The Writing Team
The Writing Team forms the script-writing core of the series. They pitch, develop, and write many scripts during the course of the season. The show's direction often spawns from our writers and their valued input. Frontiers is proud to boast such a diverse and uniquely qualified writing staff.

BIO: I first became aware of Star Trek when the answer to a crossword clue – “Star __, sci-fi, (4)” – wasn’t “Wars”. I was only about seven at the time, and it would be a few more years until I actually saw any Trek. When that time came, what I saw was a re-run of “Silicon Avatar” – perhaps not the most auspicious beginning, but it was enough to get me interested, and interested I have remained ever since.
My writing experience to date has been predominantly theatrical; over the years I have written several stageplays, and also directed, acted, stage-managed, set-painted, and thrown glitter in an effort to replicate fairy dust, though not all in the same play.
In the “Miscellany” category, I am an undergraduate at the University of Bath, studying mathematics with a view to entering research. I also spend a lot of time indulging my mania for correct punctuation, spelling and grammar, and complaining about the collapse of standards in society.

BIO: Star Trek has been in my blood since day one and has helped shaped the creativity, ideals, and life I enjoy today. Once I discovered my love for writing, I knew that someday I would have to write for the show in some way and here I am. Star Trek is at its best when it deals with the characters and their reactions to events surrounding them. As such, I tend to strive for more character driven stories and ideas. I'm also looking for new ways to tell stories, particularly in the Trek universe, and make it a goal of mine to try something different for each project.
When I'm not writing for Frontiers, I enjoy writing other plays and scripts that I hope will get published one day. Aside from writing, I enjoy acting, directing, television & film, "The Legend of Zelda", late 19th century science fiction, early 20th century history & culture, night games, dodgeball, and the Disneyland Attraction "Pirates of the Carribbean"

BIO: I've watched Star Trek since it's beginnings, and was glad when they revived the series way back in 1987. It's been quite a journey for Star Trek since, and I'm eager to see what they do with it in the future. I'm also a big fan of classical sci-fi (The kind that makes you think rather than just entertains).
After working 20 years in the defense industry, I moved into the financial world about 5 years ago, and now work as an Infrastructure Planner for Wells Fargo. Most of the writing I've done in the past consists of boring requirements documents, research papers and class materials for college computer science courses, so I'm excited ato have the opportunity to expand my skills a bit writing for STF. I've also had a couple of books published: both pictorial histories of Des Moines, IA. I'd like to get some sort of fictional work out in the marketplace, but time will tell. In my spare time I volunteer for my church and community, and keep my wife, son (age 16) and daughter (age 5) entertained.

BIO: I first discovered Trek around the age of 8 when I first watched Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and was instantly intrigued. After watching the rest of the movies (6 at the time) I moved on to The Original Series, The Next Generation and so on. My favourite series are The Next Generation with both The Original Series and Deep Space Nine not far off. I like all Trek, but don’t get me started on Voyager, because I have very few nice things to say about it.
In early 2006 I launched Star Trek: Discovery, and just about wrote an entire season in the space of a year. The series had to be unfortunately cancelled in 2007 due to writer shortages and other several issues.
My other interests outside Star Trek consist mostly of my biggest passion, sport; particularly Cricket and Football (Aussie Rules Footy). I loves to play Golf and Cricket, but unfortunately don’t have the frame to play footy. Oh and I don’t mind dabbling in writing either
The Media Team
Our Media Team is in charge of bringing Frontiers to life in clever and interactive ways. From ship design sketches to 3D animation to new and exciting website designs, our Media Team is constantly working on new ideas to bring Frontiers off of the written page and onto your computer screens.

My First Trek experience was about 10-12 years ago whilst I was on holiday. My dad, already being a fan, was watching The Next Generation. The first thing I saw the Enterprise flying through the stars, and all I thought was "wow...." (bear in mind I was only about 9) After that I was hooked. I remember being very excited about the start of DS9, although being different to TNG I still loved it and turned out to be one of my favourite series. Out of all the series of Star Trek thus far, I do not see one standing out above the rest.
I first started using Lightwave 3D over 2 years ago now, when I saw the animations at spacebattles.com. I thought it would be great to do something like that...so I did, and rather well. So far I have only paid real interest in the animation side. Having done a full blown 20 min epic for a group of friends (RSX), I started to concentrate on modelling a little more. I noticed a post on a forum about someone needing an artist to help them do CGI based work. Little did I know that it would lead me to Frontiers. After staring work, my experience in modelling has grown massively.
The rest of my time is taken up by the New Jersey Rockers....Bon Jovi!

I started as a concept artist for Frontiers in preparation for the Great Attractor mission. They needed a number of new ships, and Grim had seen my entry for the Pocketbooks Titan contest on the public forum. It was a dream come true in a sense, because I had always loved to draw and had been designing starships on the borders of my school papers since fifth grade. I had also been writing stories about them, and would someday like to try a script, but that hasn't happened yet.
I graduated from college this past year with a bachelors degree in English and am currently working as a literacy tutor with a local school district; I hope to go on to grad school in a year for a masters in creative writing.
Among my many interests are theology, history (especially ancient), literature (especially European), cultural development, and any type of creativity that fleshes itself out cohesively. Tolkien is my hero, and by the time I die, I hope to have written the basic "true" history of at least one world and its peoples.
The Consultant Team
The Consultant Team is a unique addition to Frontiers this year. These guys offer important input into the direction of series from the perspective of the typical fan or reader. That's not to say they don't write episodes either, but their primary function is to look and what we're doing and offer ways to improve or different directions to take.

I was first introduced to Trek through a re-run of Voyager that aired after WWE Smackdown! in 1999. I was hooked from then on, and eventually discovered all five series, and the movies. I joined the Frontiers staff in 2004 as an editor, before becoming co-executive producer, but have since reduced my role to consultant, and helping out with special features.
Outside of VST, i'm a huge fan of Ultimate Spider-Man - Marvel's modern re-telling of the Spider-Man mythos. Some of my favorite tv shows include Smallville, the 4400, Friday Night Lights, & Heroes. I'm also a huge fan of the NFL's Carolina Panthers, and of football in general. I'll listen to pretty much any genre of music, as long as it's good - that includes rock, rap, country, alternative, punk - whatever's good. I'm currently in school majoring in web technologies, and hope to find work as a graphic artist in the future.
Like any other series Frontiers has had a number of staff members who have contributed something to our universe and then moved on. This is our place to recognize the contributions of former staff members.
